Federal Tax Credits For Energy Efficient Home Improvements
My husband and I decided we really need to replace our windows. They are 16 years old and it's time.
We went to the NARI Show at the Farmingdale College in February and discovered with windows, you can get up to $1500.00 back from the good 'ol government! I like free money! It's only "free" if you do not owe money on your taxes. If you do, then the $1500.00 will go towards your tax bill. If you get refunds, then it's free money! Oooo-la-la!
So, the information hound I am, I had to do some research. Here is a link to the Energy Efficient site: Energy Star
Read it carefully because some of these tax credits have different expiration dates, limits, only primary residences, etc.
I can say that rentals do not qualify!
